FAQs
What technology do I need to join the livestreams?
We strongly recommend a tablet for its versatility. Alternatively, a laptop or smartphone can be used. You will also need headphones and a good internet connection. You should be confident using Zoom.
How many mannequins do I get?
We ship you two mannequins. One mannequin is for the program. The second mannequin is for additional practice as directed by Nick, in case of a mistake, and/or for your own practice.
What tools do I need for the 12-week program?
Scissors, Sectioning Clips, Cutting Combs, Spray Bottle, Blow-Dryer
What if I miss a lesson?
If you do miss a lesson, we will send you the recording*. Please note, however, that part of the concept of this digital training program is to learn together because we can accomplish more when we study in a cooperative learning environment. We strongly recommend attending all classes to get the most out of the program.
*Each attendee is limited to two class recordings.
I recently graduated from cosmetology school. Why will this course help me?
Cosmetology school teaches you the foundations. This program will build on those foundations to teach you mastery of the fundamentals of classic haircutting technique. In mastering the classic techniques of hairdressing, you will increase precision, control, and creativity, expand your repertoire of skills, and see all your haircuts improve.
Is this class good for experienced hairdressers?
Yes, especially if you’re training did not include an in-depth study of classic scissor cutting techniques. For salon educators, this program is also a great choice as you can use it to refine your own skills, and then pass on what you learn to your trainees.
Is the class hands-on?
Yes. It’s a fully hands-on program. Each attendee is allocated a mannequin and practices a variety of techniques under Nick’s interactive instruction.
How long is each weekly session?
Each weekly session lasts 1.5 hours.
