Razor Fundamentals - 1 Day
Description
“I love the razor and I use it a lot, as do my team here at ARROJO. It’s an excellent way to create modern, low-maintenance hairstyles. It’s great for enabling swing and movement, creates a contemporary jagged line, helps you redefine texture, is perfect for short and messy and shaggy styles, and makes beautiful soft-shaped layers. Yet you can only do these things if you know the fundamentals of successful razor-cutting. Razor Fundamentals shows you how to master the straight edge blade and is perfect for inexperienced razor-cutters or any stylist who wants to ground their razor-cutting in strong technique. In San Diego, this one-day seminar includes quick live demos and hands-on workshops so you can practice techniques in a fun, hands-on environment. Razor Fundamentals improves technique and precision, giving you a platform to take your creative edge to the next level.” - Nick Arrojo

Yes. The class includes instruction on correctly handling and holding the razor and focuses on the fundamentals of precision-based, creative razor cutting.

The straightedge razor facilitates natural-looking swing and movement for modern hairstyles. Unlike scissors, the razor can remove length and weight at the same time. The razor is great for adding texture and taper and will add softness to your styles. It’s great for low-maintenance, wash and wear haircuts.
-
A good way to visualize it, is to think of scissor cutting as like architecture and razor cutting as like sculpture. With a scissor you construct the shape; with a razor you sketch the shape.
-
